kenal: tari, tahan, tangan

This project contains 3 videos of hand drawn animations, over 100 hand-made prints, and corresponds with an interactive website for remote viewers to participate in a similar tactile moment from home.

"kenal" is a work that explores the notion of touch and intimacy and the layers of meaning and storytelling that our hands and skin carry.

This series of works is characterised by multiple, physical prints and three digital animations. Each of these components investigates the layers of touch, from the surface of the skin, solitary sensations, dual-bodied interactions and symbolic and cultural movements and dance.

The website involves AR and I invite you to scan the QR codes and interact with the site. The artist here was inspired by the act of digital touch and what that means in a time where we might make more physical contact with screens than other human beings.
